f1105f2e13 - further work on generic HUD
Some reorganization to avoid code duplication plus making the log screen capable of using the generic font. This also means that the popup for the log in Strife's status bar will be disabled when in generic mode - this popup with its special font would be a bit problematic.

fe37c3bc4f - allow all DHUDMessage calls to substitute SmallFont
This is a preparation for setting a generic HUD mode where all these should be able to use the VGA font instead, and not just C_MidPrint.

669b13ab8a - cleanup and fixes in console code
* consolidated C_MidPrint and C_MidPrintBold.
* removed some unused code from the console buffer.
* handle console output of centered messages to ensure they get written to the log file and to stdout.
* replaced the non-standard bar strings with simple '-'s. These were making things needlessly complicated when redirecting console output and the new font does not have the characters anyway.
* removed some old code from a time when during console drawing new network events could come and have more text printed. This can not happen anymore with how 2D elements are being handled now so all this code was redundant.

60c5350e8b - added an option to use the new console font for centered messages.
Like the notification messages, this is optional to not affect existing settings.

ed1615babb - allow using the console font for notification messages (e.g. item pickup)
This is optional because it impacts display of game content, but for readability the new font definitely has advantages.

eb4eb1ac00 - use a wide string for the console input buffer.
Since this needs to do cursor positioning calculations it's the one spot in the entire engine where UTF-8 would simply be to messy, especially when having to deal with double wide characters.

b7d09c95dd - cleanup of savegame picture code.
* re-added screen blends for images from the hardware renderer.
* moved all postprocessing of the image out of the renderers.
* cleaned out a large piece of cruft for handling the palette in the frame buffer class. This was all a remnant of the old paletted backend that no longer exists. Nowadays the screen blend is just a postprocessing effect drawn over the 3D screen, there is no need to maintain any of it as global state anymore.
* since the engine doesn't produce paletted screenshots anymore there is no need to have handling for it in the generation code. This depended on otherwise obsolete information so it got removed along with that information.

deb233677e - made the menu's text input handler Unicode capable.
Also make sure that the savegame description remains readable. Unlike in-game text this can be done without double-encoding existing UTF-8.

This also necessitated some character remapping in the console font to move the Windows-1252 extra characters to their proper Unicode code points.

45dc9a7b47 - renamed the level variables.
currentUILevel is now primaryLevel.
For ZScript, currentVMLevel was added. This is also exported as 'level' and will change as needed.
This also means that no breaking deprecations will be needed in the future, because in order to sandbox a level only 4 variables need to be handled: level, players, playeringame and consoleplayer.
The remaining global variables are not relevant for the level state.

The static 'level' has been mostly removed from the code except some places that still need work.

39f53a4de0 - took the delayed console command execution out of the thinker management.
Doing this intermingled with the thinkers is highly unsafe because there are absolutely no guarantees about order of execution.
Effectively it ran these commands right in the middle of the playsim which could cause all sorts of synchronization issues, because CCMDs are part of the UI, not the playsim.

- pass a const string to AddCommandString.

This function manipulated the input buffer, leading to all sorts of code contortions to make sure that the passed parameter is clean for that.
This function will now create a copy of the passed parameter which it can manipulate without complicating its calling code.

a9ec819557 - moved the type infomation entirely out of VMValue.
For the varargs functions that used the Type field to validate their parameters, now a hidden additional argument is passed which contains a byte array with the type info for the current call's arguments. Since this is static per call location it can be better prepared once when the code is being compiled instead of being put in a runtime created array for each invocation. Everything else uses the per-function instance of the same data.

The only thing that still needed the type field with a VMValue is the defaults array, so this uses a different struct type now to store its data.

0d54d335c4 - use a saner data structure to store the BrokenLines.
Calling the old method with a pointer to an array of unspecified length 'dirty' would be an understatement.
Now it uses a TArray to store the single elements

fad406c4c9 - got rid of FNameNoInit and made the default constructor of FName non-initializing.
This setup has been a constant source of problems so now I reviewed all uses of FName to make sure that everything that needs to be initialized is done manually.
This also merges the player_t constructor into the class definition as default values.

2ed744963c - Changed frame buffer locking mechanism so that the only place where a lock is needed is when the software renderer wants to access the render buffer, which is precisely for the duration of the RenderView function.
No more locking insanity! :)
There are no locking counters or other saveguards here that would complicate the implementation because there's precisely two places where this buffer must be locked - the RenderView functions of the regular and poly SW renderer which cannot be called recursively.

e89a598b31 - renamed FTexture's UseType flags and gave them a dedicated type.
This was done mainly to reduce the amount of occurences of the word FTexture but it immediately helped detect two small and mostly harmless bugs that were found due to the stricter type checks.

cd180d29c7 - block direct use of 'new' for DObjects.
This is to ensure that the Class pointer can be set right on creation. ZDoom had always depended on handling this lazily which poses some problems for the VM.
So now there is a variadic Create<classtype> function taking care of that, but to ensure that it gets used, direct access to the new operator has been blocked.

This also neccessitated making DArgs a regular object because they get created before the type system is up. Since the few uses of DArgs are easily controllable this wasn't a big issue.

f95c29ad28 cleaned up the scaling options.
- all 5 settings affected by uiscale have been changed to have the exact same semantics: -1, if supported means special scaling, this is available for HUD and status bar, 0 means to use uiscale, any larger value is a direct scaling factor.
- scaling is cut off when the factor is larger than screenwidth/320 or screenheight/200 because anything larger will definitely not fit.
- a lot of code has been cleaned up and consolidated. Especially the message code had an incredible amount of redundancy.
- all scaling options have been moved into a submenu. This menu is not complete, though - it still requires a special menu widget to convey the intended information without confusing the user.

9bffe4ee50 - scriptified the main statusbar interface and the Strife status bar.
Note that the Strife status bar does not draw the health bars yet. I tried to replace the hacky custom texture with a single fill operation but had to find out that all the coordinate mangling for the status bar is being done deep in the video code. This needs to be fixed before this can be made to work.

Currently this is not usable in mods because they cannot initialize custom status bars yet.

fec958cc0a - finally managed to get rid of the DWORD type.
This one was particularly nasty because Windows also defines a DWORD, but in Windows it is an unsigned long, not an unsigned int so changing types caused type conflicts and not all could be removed.
Those referring to the Windows type have to be kept, fortunately they are mostly in the Win32 directory, with a handful of exceptions elsewhere.
