- apparently, this was broken before which is why this neeeded this commit in the first place, but now it's been fixed in the official distribution, which makes this commit unnecessary. Or so I am told.
Revert "make the broken ID24 levelnums work somehow so that Legacy of Rust's intermissions play."

This reverts commit 59b567689a.

634a646c2d take namespace enum out of namespace and added CheckNumForAnyName and CheckNumForFullNameInFile to clarify the meaning of CheckNumForFullName.
This is to take some renaming noise out of the upcoming refactoring.

989dcfcf1c - avoid storing texture pointers in longer lived data
* these circumvented all internal texture replacement logic. Texture objects should only be resolved right before drawing them
* added an explicit ‚tilebackground‘ option for the summary screen to fix problems with bad decision logic based on incorrect texture type checks. Automatic tiling no longer depends on texture type, but solely on size.
* added a DrawTexture variant that can be passed a texture ID instead of a pointer

b902440535 - default summary screen's clean scale to false. 2020-10-04 15:14:11 +02:00
Christoph Oelckers
2016f56a7e - added a new scaling mode to the level summary screen to scale to a given size.
In this mode the clean scaling factors are ignored and content is always scaled to fit the screen as efficently as possible.
For the default summary screens an option was added to use this mode, which is a lot closer to the original look of this screen.
It is not 100% identical because it still factors in the author, if given and long level names that may be broken into multiple lines of text.

fbf57e0c1d - fixed some scaling inconsistencies in the summary screen.
The background size wasn't taken into account for the splats and the widescreen check never verified the height of the background image.
It will now unconditionally use the new widescreen expansion mode for everything to reduce problems, use the background's display size for positioning overlays and only in the case of 200 pixel tall images perform widescreen positioning adjustment.

4f7ad5b130 - make the clean scaling system more consistent.
Now, all menus will use the same scale, i.e. it only depends on the screen width and a base size of 640. This nearly universally yields better results than trying to make a 320x200 screen fit.
The only exceptions to this are the intermission screens and the level summary. These, unlike the menu need to try to make a 320x200 screen fit, but without all the hackery that was present to adjust the menu display.
Note that since this affects globally visible script variables, both the intermission and summary drawers will not use their own set but instead temporarily override the global setting as long as they run their own code.
Changing the use of variables here might cause much worse problems with menu code so it wasn't attempted

b7d09c95dd - cleanup of savegame picture code.
* re-added screen blends for images from the hardware renderer.
* moved all postprocessing of the image out of the renderers.
* cleaned out a large piece of cruft for handling the palette in the frame buffer class. This was all a remnant of the old paletted backend that no longer exists. Nowadays the screen blend is just a postprocessing effect drawn over the 3D screen, there is no need to maintain any of it as global state anymore.
* since the engine doesn't produce paletted screenshots anymore there is no need to have handling for it in the generation code. This depended on otherwise obsolete information so it got removed along with that information.

aa550310f6 - allow the language table to supersede the title patches, if appropriate
For the Doom IWADs the provided font looks almost identical to the characters used on the title patches. So, for any level name that got replaced in some language, it will now check if the retrieved name comes from the default table, and if not, ignore the title patch and print the name with the specified font.

This also required removing the 'en' label from the default table, because with this present, the text would always be picked from 'en' instead of 'default'. Since 'en' and 'default' had the same contents, in any English locale the 'default' table was never hit, so this won't make any difference for the texts being chosen.

Last but not least, wminfo has been made a local variable in G_DoCompleted. There were two places where this was accessed from outside the summary screen or its setup code, and both were incorrect.

e89a598b31 - renamed FTexture's UseType flags and gave them a dedicated type.
This was done mainly to reduce the amount of occurences of the word FTexture but it immediately helped detect two small and mostly harmless bugs that were found due to the stricter type checks.
